[[http://www.classroomconnections.ca|Classroom Connections]] is a national non-profit educational organization (with charitable status). In the past ten years, we have produced over 20 innovative, award winning and bilingual [[http://www.classroomconnections.ca/en/othresources.html|educational programs]] for schools, parents and community groups across Canada. The resources are designed to improve parental support for learning and development, enhance instructional methods to better engage all students in the learning process and inspire youth to reach their full potential as informed, socially responsible and engaged citizens. Classroom Connections has developed a well-earned reputation for providing groundbreaking programs, and it has forged a unique and powerful network among educators, leading researchers and Ministries of Education across the country.
Our extensive experience within education has created a unique window into the workings of provincial systems and great insight into existing gaps, issues and challenges. The context for education has changed significantly over the past 200 years and so, too, has our understanding of brain function, human development and the process of learning. Many ingrained educational practices, as well as the very structures of our systems, are counterproductive to real learning, the development of innovative thinking and successful transition into adulthood.
As an organization dedicated to learning and youth, Classroom Connections feels a strong responsibility not only to advocate for educational change, but to lead in taking action. In moving forward on this directive we have partnered with John Abbott, President of [[http://www.21learn.org|The 21st Century Learning Initiative]], and the [[http://www.ccl-cca.ca|Canadian Council on Learning]] to further promote and share information, activities and best practices in educational change.
